2. Pataudi Palace | Rang De Basanti, Eat Pray Love

Haryana

Pataudi Palace has been home to two generations of the Nawabs of Pataudi and is now famous as the home of Bollywood stars Soha and Saif Ali Khan.

As if this Bollywood connection was not enough, this heritage property was a part of popular flicks like M Mangal Pandey, Veer Zara, Rang de Basanti, Gandhi My father, Mere Brother ki Dulhan and the Julia Roberts starrer, Eat Pray Love!

3. Vijay Vilas Palace | Lagaan

Mandvi, Gujarat

This palace of His Highness Maharao Vijay Singhji, who ruled over Kutch in the 40’s was shown as a British house in Lagaan and Aishwarya Rai’s home in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

4. Ahilya Fort | Asoka

Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh

Ahilya Fort, located on the high ground overlooking the Narmada River was emperor Shah Rukh Khan’s palace in the movie Asoka.

Archaeological remains have shown that this site has been occupied for more than 4000 years and the fort is now heritage hotel of discrete charm.

5. Rainforest Resort | Guru, Raavan

Athirapally, Kerala

Situated deep in a lush green rainforest, this one has a beautiful view of the Athirapally waterfalls, from every room!
