According to mythological beliefs, when Amrit was obtained from Samudra Manthan, a war broke out between the gods and demons for the Amrit. It is said that at that time Vishwakarma ji was carrying Amrit secretly. By bad luck, some drops of Amrit fell on the earth at that time. It is said that wherever the drops of Amrit fell, that place became a religious place. Some drops of Amrit also fell in Haridwar. That place was called Hari Ki Pauri.
