How to reach Leh Ladakh
You can reach Ladakh by various means. There are day flights from Delhi to Leh and Srinagar provided by Indian airlines and the other private carriers. You can also take bus from Delhi. In that case, you need to break down your journey in to two parts. First, you will take bus from Delhi to Manali. From Manali, you can take jeep or bus to Leh. You can also take your own vehicle like motorbike or jeep. Taxies are also available from Srinagar and Manali so you can take taxi to avoid pain of driving in the mountains.
Permits
If you are an Indian, then you don’t need to take your passport with you, but if you are visiting from a foreign country, then you should have your passport and visa along with you. In order to visit several inner parts of Ladakh like Pangong Lake and Khardungla pass, you will need special permits from the DC office in Leh. You can ask your travel agent to assist you regarding this. Make sure that you make several copies of this permit as you have to submit them while travelling to different points.

Money
You will find some ATMs in Leh, but if you carry some extra cash with you, then it would better for you. Shops and hotels here do not accept credit card, hence you have to rely on cash completely.
Acute Mountain Sickness
When you reach higher altitudes, your body gets very less oxygen, and hence you start feeling sick. This is called AMS. To avoid AMS, you should drink a lot of water. Give your body some rest after reaching Leh. This will help your body to adapt to the higher altitudes. If you a feel any symptoms like nausea, light headedness, headache, etc., you should immediately consult a doctor for proper care.
Photography
If you want to shoot the beauty of the place in your camera, then you will need a lot of memory cards as there is so much to explore that you can never get enough of Ladakh. Don’t take photographs of people if they ask you for money. It would be better to ask before you take any photograph.
Clothing
As the weather here is very harsh and cold, you should buy some sweaters for men online in India before heading to Ladakh. Without proper winter wear, you would not be able to enjoy your trip and will fall ill. Along with winter wear, you need to have water proof shoes and warm sleeping bags if you have any plans of trekking.
